Beer review #1 - Steinlager(New Zealand)
Well here it is, our first beer review.
Firstly I’d like to say we are not beer tasting experts so our views are totally our own opinion and if you have differing views, please post a comment, this site is all about open discussion, hopefully our beer reviewing techniques will get better with time.
Beer #1 on our Ultimate Beer Quest is Steinlager, due mainly to the fact they are the official sponsors of the All Blacks I decided to have a beer while watching the 2nd test between the All Blacks and France last night. Having not had a Steinlager for many years(probably at least 10) and having a friend say recently he thought Steinlager was shit, I was not expecting anything great. Surprisingly though I found the beer very soothing on the taste buds, wording on the logo actually says "Pure Crisp Clean" and honestly thats actually the sort of feeling I had after drinking it.
Alot of other beers I have drunk leave a bit of an after taste, but Steinlager didn’t leave me with that at all, and in a way maybe it was a bit too "Pure Crisp Clean". My overall impression was, yes I liked it, yes it tasted nice, but something was missing.
