Beer #3 - Miller Genuine Draft(USA)
Since the majority of our visitors so far have been from the US of A, I thought it high time I did a review on an American beer.
American beers are not the easiest thing to come by around these parts so I didn’t have alot to choose from, however I noticed a bar close to where I work had Miller Genuine Draft, so decided to give it a shot.
I’ve always had this notion that Amercian beers are weak and watery and Miller Genuine Draft didn’t do much to dispell that view. My first sip left me wondering if I was drinking an iced water rather than a beer, absolutley no after taste at all and the aroma and flavour was very weak indeed.
If I was doing a beer bong, yard glass or The Boot as in Beerfest this beer would be my choice as I could scull this stuff back faster than it takes Ron Jeremy to flop his cock out.
Now I am not saying that this beer is all bad, I have to admitt the idea of having one of these ice cold on a hot summers day to quench my thirst is actually quite appealing as you could knock it back pretty quick, but right now its the middle of winter where I am and this did nothing at all to warm me up.
Overall, good beer for a hot summers day but not enough substance for anything else.

I’ve found most American beers I have drunk not to seem quite tasteless as well, maybe it something to do with the brewing techniques?
Apparenly Bud uses rice instead of hops?

If you want to try a good American beer, Try Samuel Adams http://www.samueladams.com if you can find it. I love beer I have had beer from all over the world and The United States has the best beers in the world. I am sorry to say as far as I know most of those are not shipped overseas. Only the mass-produced ones are exported, and most of those are week because, it is true not all but most of them use fillers like rice and corn. The US has over 1000 Breweries. Unfortunately for the rest of the world most of the best beers in America are only sold regionally. I have found some of the best to come from California and Colorado.

That’s what American beer enthusiasts refer to as an industial-brewed pale American lager. When we’re feeling kind we might call it a “lawnmower beer”. Most other times we just call it crap.
There is good American beer to be had, but Anheuser-Busch, SABMiller and MolsonCoors spend untold millions to convince people to buy their products.
All that said, I do have a soft spot in my heart for MGD. It came on the market around the same time I came of age. For a long time, it was the swill of choice for me and my friends. Until we grew up, anyway.

Yawn Yawn Yawn.
Try finding some American craft beer, at the very least a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. American craft brewers are leading the charge for huge flavoursome hoppy beer, the bigger and hoppier the better. Do some reading on imperial IPA’s, imperial Russian stouts, anything other than BudMillerCoors.
