Worlds largest beer can pyramid or beeramid :)
Sorry it has been a few days since my last update, had a rather full on weekend, of which some details will be posted in the near future, while not all of it was hungover or drunk a fair proportion of it was!!!!
Anyway for some reason over the weekend I was reminded of a time when we built a beer can pyramid or beeramid as I have found out they are sometimes called at a football tournament I went to when I was about 17.
I started wondering what the world record was and well as far as I know below are the current details of the largest beeramid ever made, enjoy this interesting snippet of trivia and amaze your friends at the next party you are at by letting them know this amazing beer fact, you are bound to get laid!!!
Onto the details, apparently the previous record set by a group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2000 was broken by members of the Student Activites Collective at Melbourne University, Victoria, Australia in 2005.
The beeramid contained 10,660 beer cans and was 5.07 metres tall and 4000 litres of beer had to be drunk!!
After it was displayed the beeramid was auctioned on eBay for apporimately $15 to students at Adelaide University who used it as a Christmas tree and then took it back to their campus for orientation week.
Finally there is a hidden message, which is pretty clear once you know its there, saying NO VSU, which is referring to Voluntary Student Unionism which was a law the Victorian State Government was bringing in so paying fees for non academic activities were not compulsory.
