Heineken - Rugby World Cup Ad
The Rugby World Cup is just around the corner, only 4 days away now in fact and if the All Blacks don’t win New Zealand will be a depressing place for a while as rugby is life for alot of people down here.
Think I am exaggerating? Believe me I am not, last World Cup when the English won it and we were knocked out by Australia in the semis the whole country was in a depressed/sombre mood for weeks.
Check out this news story from the last time the AB’s didn’t bring the World Cup home.
New Zealand is in mourning after the All Blacks’ shock Rugby World Cup semi-final loss to Australia.
"The end of the world," screamed the front page of the Sunday News.
"World chumps" was the Sunday Star Times’ summation of the 22-10 loss.
Rugby mad New Zealanders’ dreams have again been shattered and the All Blacks are likely to face a repeat of the hostile reception they received after their failed 1999 World Cup campaign.
"The All Blacks have completed a nightmare World Cup hat-trick and again have the sole rights to rugby’s ugliest tag," wrote the newspaper’s rugby reporter Chris Mirams.
"… The defeat has ramifications for New Zealand rugby well beyond the playing field."
The loss is also expected to have an impact on New Zealand’s economy, with Kiwi fans plunged into a deep depression and likely to spend less.
Either way we will either be drinking loads of Heineken celebrating or commiserating!
