Why do some beers give you the shits?
I have always wondered why some beers give you the shits like the picture below the next day or even sooner than that in some cases!
I haven’t been able to come up with any conclusive reason why this occurs but have some theories.
Theory 1: It has nothing to do with the type of beer just the volume you have drunk.
Theory 2: Its caused by the yeast in the beer, usually dead yeast cells as most live yeast is removed by finings(additives to remove cloudiness)
Theory 3: Its caused by finings, as stated above these are additives added to the beer to remove cloudiness.
I think each theory is definitely possible, but I guess untill some serious scientific investigation is put into this, the random shits after a season on the piss will forever remain a mystery!
