Beer #5 - Lion Red(New Zealand)
The weekend was an eventful one, hence me not posting here for 2 days!
One of the things that kept me away from the keyboard was Friday night, had a few drinks with work colleagues at the pub, then to the office for more drinks and then back to the pub to round the evening off. Finally I got dial a driver home with Toucan Dan as we were both pretty shitfaced.
Anyway during the course of the evening I ended up drinking Lion Red, the first beer I had ever drank and since I had developed my taste buds one that I would usually avoid!
This beer is great if you are hammered, cheap and nasty, not so great if you want something to savour. The beer is quite malty and leaves a bitter aftertaste for me, surprising as I have read reviews saying others thought the beer was quite sweet, I guess everyones taste buds are different!
This beer is something to drink if you want to have a cheap night out, get pissed and are not worried about taste. Pretty much this is the sort of image Lion Red cultivates in New Zealand anyway so I guess it fits the bill perfectly, Jake the Muss knows what I mean, eh bro!
One more thing about this beer, it has one other quite noticeable effect on me(possibly not on everyone) and one that also kept me from updating the site, it gives me the incredible power of being able to shit through the eye of a needle, honestly if you want to do a colonic irrigation don’t go to some doctor to do it, save yourself a wad of cash and have about 6 cans of Lion Red and it will do it for you!!!!!
